Caption - Portuguese Railways (CP) Henschel built metre gauge 2-4-6-0T Mallet E205 at Regua with a train to Chaves in the summer of 1972. The line climbed from the broad-gauge Douro Valley line, which was still steam worked at this date, on to the higher plateau lying to the north. Note the loco still carries a chimney number plate. Sadly, quite soon these were to be removed.
