Spanish Railways 2-8-2+2-8-2 Garratt 282F 0405 at Reus
Caption - Spanish Railways (RENFE) Iberian gauge (1668 mm.) 2-8-2+2-8-2 Garratt 282F 0405 at Reus in 1968. These impressive Garratts were designed primarily for freight traffic over heavily graded lines. Their design avoided double heading of trains. Built by Babcock and Wilcox in 1930 the six locomotives in the class were the most powerful locos in Spain until massive 2-10-2's were introduced in the 1940's and exceeded them in power.
