Caption - Pakistan Railways broad gauge SGS class 0-6-0 2388 at Landi Kotal in November 1978. This was an exciting journey from Peshawar up the Khyber Pass to the Afghan border. The train was top and tailed by SGS class locos and ran every Friday. The station master at Peshawar was very helpful and, to ensure my safety, provided four armed railway policemen to accompany me for the day. This was a relief as many passengers were heavily armed with belts of ammunition across their chests.
