French Railways (SNCF) 231K 4-6-2 at Boulogne in 1969
Caption - French Railways (SNCF) 231K 4-6-2 at Boulogne in 1969 in perfect condition probably after a recent overhaul. The PLM railway built nearly 500 pacific locos between 1909 and 1933 spread across five classes including the 231K. After the formation of SNCF, these locos were rebuilt and redistributed including in the Nord Region. One member of the class, 231K 22, spent much of the 1970's based in Steamtown, Carnforth, but is now back in France.
