Indonesian Railways 0-4-0 tender loco B5212 near Prupuk
Caption - Indonesian Railways (PNKA) 3-foot 6-inch gauge 0-4-0 B5212 with a train on the branch between Tegal and Prupuk in February 1980. The Indonesian climate with regular rainfall and high temperatures meant that controlling weeds and grass on the trackbed was always a big problem requiring almost daily maintenance. Rather surprisingly 27 of these diminutive low axle load tender locos were built in four batches between 1908 and 1913 by Hartmann. B5212 was part of the third batch of 10 locos built in 1912.
