Caption - Chinese Railways QJ class 2-10-2 at Shenyang depot in January 1985. Over 4700 of these locos were built between 1956 and 1988 and were the amongst the last steam locos to be mass produced in the world. The facilities at Chinese depots were generally modern and streamlined offering efficient turn rounds between trains. In winter, the temperatures plummeted and despite the heat generated by the locomotive there was often an accumulation of ice with the temperature about minus 15 degrees Celsius.
