Caption - El Maiten depot on the 750 mm gauge line in Patagonia (Argentina) from Ingeniero Jacobacci to El Maiten and Esquel with a 400+ kilometre network. This image was captured in 1972 when the line was operating good levels of freight traffic and some reguiar passenger trains too. On view are two Henschel built 2-8-2's plus one of the Baldwin Mikados. Today "La Trochita" remains open (at least in part) with steam hauled tourist trains crossing the spectacular and wild landscape of this area.
