Sao Jose sugar mill (Brazil) 0-10-0 no.50
Caption - The Sao Jose sugar mill in Rio de Janeiro state (Brazil) had an interesting metre gauge system serving the cane fields. Their no. 50, seen in November 1981, is an impressive wood burning 0-10-0 (Henschel 21687/1930) which like all Sao Jose's steam locos was always kept in immaculate condition. The loco was originally ordered by Usina Barreiros in Pernambuco State. Usina Sao Jose later acquired the loco. It now runs at the Campinas - Jaguariuna steam railway in Sao Paulo state. The locomotive was supplied without the ship's hooter seen on the picture which was a later addition.
