Caption - Portuguese Railways (CP) scene at Regua depot in May 1977. Two metre gauge Mallet 2-4-6-0T's E214 and E215 (left) are stabled around the turntable with broad-gauge Bo-Bo diesel 1410 (English Electric/Soreframe 1967). Broad gauge steam has gone as have the brass number plates on the steam locos. The 2-4-6-0T's were used on the line to Chaves with sixteen of these powerful locos built by Henschel between 1911 and 1923. The 1400 class of diesel is almost history too with a few still in occasional service in 2018.
