12206 - Garratts from Thomson Junction
Caption - SAR GMAM no.4087 (on hire to National Railways Zimbabwe) heads across the embankment near New Wankie Station with a southbound freight. In South Africa these locos normally worked bunker first and it was refreshing to see the 'right way round'. They were lengthy engines especially when towing the obligatory water cart.
