Taiwan Railways 4-6-2 CT256 (JNR C55) at Chiayi
Caption - Taiwan Railway Administration (TRA) 3-foot 6-inch 4-6-2 CT256 at Chiayi steam loco depot in February 1978. The railways were built by Japan and all the steam locos were standard Japanese classes and outlasted those in their home country. CT256 was a JNR C55 class 4-6-2 and used on passenger trains. The railway was very well maintained with superb track. The steam locos ran like sewing machines with no steam leakage. Within a year the steam scene in Taiwan had finished.
