Crewe station trains

United Kingdom - 2012

My first visit to Crewe was in 1958 when it was one of the great railway centres in the UK. How things have changed. This visit was meant to record the dying days of Virgin Trains as they had just 'lost' their franchise to the First Group. In the end the tender process was cancelled and the Virgin contract was extended for two years. Sadly Crewe station is suffering from decay although some recent work has tried to smarten up the station. However much of the old infrastructure still remains.
