Trains at Bordeaux Saint Jean station

France - 2011

Saint-Jean is the main station in the French city of Bordeaux and offers an interesting place to watch trains as services run to Paris and many parts of south-west France. In 2011 there were still many loc-hauled services although overall multiple units and TGVs were dominant. The station was completed in 1898 and still retains its classic architecture. Since construction there has been growth in traffic and additional platforms have been built beyond the original arched train shed. Outside the main entrance you can also see modern trams working on the Toulouse system.
