Caption - Deutsche Reichsbahn (DR) 4-6-2 01 137 at Dresden Neustadt in August 1977 with a D-Zug from Berlin Ostbahnhof to Dresden Hbf. These were the standard express locos for German Railways with 221 built between 1926 and 1938. After partition of Germany after WWII many in East Germany, like 01 137, continued to operate in their original condition although large smoke deflectors were added. In East Germany 35 were rebuilt with new boilers and cabs and became BR 01.5.
