Caption - French Railways (SNCF) 4-8-2 241.P.13 at Nantes in March 1967. These were the last steam locos built for express passenger duties in France. 35 locomotives were built by Schneider et Cie., of Le Creusot between 1948 and 1952. Powerful machines, the class was capable of hauling passenger trains of 700-800 tonnes at 120 km/h (75 mph) and climbing gradients of 1 in 125 (8%). The last member of the class was taken out of service in 1973.
