Hannover Seelze depot visit

Germany - 2013

Seelze is located a few miles to the north of Hannover and is the location for the largest marshalling yards in the city. The freight flows through Seelze are substantial and in addition to container, car and other fixed train formations the marshalling yard is still busy humping wagons and re-marshalling trains. The loco depot is central to this vast operation and is busy throughout the week maintaining and providing motive power for these essential freight flows. It was good to see some of the older classes of locos still at work including classes 140 and 151.
