Caption - South African Railways (SAR) two foot gauge NGG11 class 2-6-0+0-6-2 Garratt no. 54 is seen at Humewood Road in October 1968. There were five members of the class delivered in 1919 (three) and 1925 (two - including 54) all built by Beyer-Peacock. No. 54 started life working on the Estcourt to Weenen branch in Natal. In 1964 it was transferred to the Avontuur line from Port Elizabeth where it was used for local shunts in the depot and to the docks. Withdrawal took place in 1974.
