Caption - Turkish Railways (TCDD) 56301 class 2-10-0 "Skyliner" no. 56388 is seen north of Cankiri with a freight north to the steel town of Karabuk in September 1984. This loco was numerically the last of the class and was built by Vulcan Ironworks (USA) in 1948. Most of the class spent their lives on this line working to the northern terminus at Zonguldak. Following contemporary US design practice of the period, these impressive engines had mechanical stokers and earned their name from the streamlined housing over the domes on top of the boiler.
