Caption - South African Railways 25NC class 4-8-4 no.3491 drifts downhill into Orange River station with the northbound Orange Express. This train was always loaded to 15 coaches or more which included a double kitchen/diner set. These heavy passenger trains were well within the capabilities of these 4-8-4s with a steady 100 kph maintained over long sections of this undulating route.
