Steam locos at Sindanglaut Sugar Mill, Java

A visit to the 720mm gauge railway at Sindanglaut Sugar Mill, Java, saw eight steam locos in action. This mill was typical of many in Indoensia at the time with road transport gradually taking over the job of bringing cane from the fields to the mill. However there was still plenty of action during the visit. Many mills had some articulated locos such as 0-4-4-0 Mallets so this mill was somewaht unusual in that these were noticeable by their absence.
