The Bernina Railway

This gallery covers the northern part of Rhaetian Railways Bernina Railway that runs from Pontresina over the Bernina Pass to Tirano. The railway has always interested me from my first visit in 1976. Today the line sees modern EMUs in service supported by some rather nice motor cars dating from 1980s. Pontresina at the southern end of the Bernina line sees some loco hauled services to Scuoal Tarasp which adds to the variety of motive power.
