Bratislava Vychod loco depot

Slovakia - 2013

Bratislava Vychod loco depot lies a few kilometres east of the main station and is responsible for providing motive power for freight traffic in Slovakia's capital as well as trip workings and heavy shunting in the freight yards. The allocation is significant with the main interest lying in the iconic class 240 Bo-Bo electrics some of which are now over 45 years old. As with most depots in this part of the world there are some older locos stored or awaiting scrap. Some of these are not at the main site but located close the now closed Vychod station adjacent to the railway museum. Vychod depot can be reached by tram 4 from the city centre.
