Open day at Statfold Barn Railway

United Kingdom - 2012

The Statfold Barn Railway near Tamworth offers an exceptional extravaganza of narrow gauge steam on two gauges (2ft. and 2ft.6in) with an interesting fleet of locos from the UK and overseas. The locos have been restored to a very high standard and offer a historical insight into the wide variety of designs produced by a range of manufacturers. The railway is open to the public only by invitation three times a year and on arrival enthusiasts are greeted by a scene unparalleled anywhere else in the world. This visit in September 2012 saw 13 locos in steam operating a very frequent service over the three mile out and back line. In addition there are a number of locos stored for restoration.
