Sunny morning trains at Budapest Nyugati

Hungary - 2012

Budapest-Nyugati pályaudvar (Budapest-Western station) is one of the three main railway terminals of Budapest, Hungary. The station was planned by August de Serres and was built by the Eiffel Company. It was opened on 28 October 1877. The station is a grand structure with an impressive frontage and large train shed. Traffic is quite busy with some trains formed of EMUs. However there are still many loco hauled trains both local services and intercity trains. Shunting is in the hands of two station pilots. The station is not as busy at Budapest-Keleti which sees the majority of intercity and international trains.
