Rudyard Lake Steam Railway

United Kingdom - 2012

The Rudyard Lake Steam Railway is a 10.25 inch gauge line running some 1.5 miles along the track bed of a former standard gauge North Staffordshire Railway branch line. There were five locos present in the early stages of the 2012 season with another loco arriving from the Isle of Mull arriving on semi-permanent loan. The main station and depot lie at the southern end of the line not far from the town of Leek. There are two other stations at the Dam and the northern terminus of Hunthouse Wood. At peak times trains run every 30 minutes requiring two locos in steam. Please note that the final three images were taken during a visit in 2010.
