Operated by Leipziger Verkehrsbetriebe, the Leipzig tramway is the scond largest system in Germany after Berlin. A standard gauge system with 13 lines and nearly 150km of route, you soon realise the scale of the network when you arrive in the city. For example the street outside the main station has a four track main line with numerous junctions with trams seemingly everywhere!
