Trains at Verona Porta Nuova

Italy - 2011

Verona is located on the main line between Venice and Milan. It is also the point where the line through the Brenner Pass into Austria starts its journey north. To the south Bologna is served by a main line and there are also some secondary branch lines in the area too. Traffic is mostly electrified with loco-hauled trains predominating. However diesel and electric multiple units are also seen. During my observations at the station no freight was seen. Adding a little variety are some trains over the Brenner route are hauled by Austrian Railways locos.
