Toulouse Matabiau is the principal station in the city and is located on the edge of the central commercial centre. A major junction on the main line between Nice, Marseille and Bordeaux, its is also a principal junction with lines radiating to Lourdes, Latour-de-Carol and St Sulpice. In addition to loco-hauled inter-city services between Nice/Marseille and Bordeaux it also the terminus of the loco-hauled Teoz service from Paris Austerlitz via Brive and TGV services from Paris Montparnasse via Tours and Bordeaux. There is also fairly frequent freight traffic. One further attraction is the fact that the main depot and loco stabling sidings is adjacent to the platforms on the east side of the station.
