Trains at Brussels Midi - Part 2

Belgium - 2011

Brussels Midi (or Brussels Zuid in Dutch) is a busy station. A wide variety of rolling stock and locomotives are still in use with rush hour services using a few of the older classes of loco. The operation is impressive despite the bottleneck tunnels between Midi and Central stations which do cause some late running. International high speed trains include French TGVs, German ICEs, Eurostar and Thalys units. In additon loco-hauled stock is used on some International services. Internal Belgian services are in the hands a wide vareity of multiple units together with push-pull stock powered by a decent variety of locos. In additon you are likely to see a few diesel locos at the station although freight is absent.
