Oranjerivier main line steam

Oranjerivier was the principal water stop between Kimberley and De Aar on the famous double track mainline. Fires were also cleaned at this station. Quite often there would be four trains the in the loops at one time especially when running at minimum headways. These images also include the Orange Express in steam hauled days. A great place to watch steam locos at work!
