Switzerland - 1986

Switzerland has always had interesting railways with many private railways and a variety of different gauges and rolling stock. The Swiss Federal system was full of variety too. This visit explored some of the minor railways and some better known favourites. The mid-1980s marked the end of an era as older stock was disappearing with new locos and EMUs appearing across the network.
