Caption - Italian State Railways (FS) 623 class 2-6-0 623.081 seen in 1967 at Ferrara with a local service to Ravenna or Rimini. The early 1950's saw 35 625 class locos, with inside cylinders and outside valve gear, rebuilt with Franco Crosti boilers which had two pre-heaters placed on the sides of the boiler. These locos were not that successful and wre all withdrawn by the early 1970's. Sadly none have been preserved.
