Caption - Italian Railways (FS) 2-6-0 625-12x in 1979. Designed as mixed traffic locos 188 625s were built between 1914 and 1923. Like most Italian steam locos they featured clean lines with very little clutter on the boilers. They lasted in service until 1976. After withdrawal from normal service, some of the class were placed in an operational strategic reserve and saw occasional service. Today 25 examples have been preserved.
