Caption - Southern Railways (India) broad gauge WP class 4-6-2 at Basin Bridge, Madras in February 1978. Based at Erode, 7723 (Chittaranjan 1966) was one of six or so WPs kept in immaculate condition for premier express duties. Even the driving wheels are shining. I was lucky enough to ride the footplate from Madras to Erode on the Nilagiri Express that night. What an experience!
