Caption - Futwah Islampur Light Railway 2-foot 6-inch gauge 0-6-2T H4 (Manning Wardle 2031/23). Seen in 1984 alongside competing modes of transport on the road that ran parallel to the railway. From a local's point of view the train offered the best option if you wished to avoid paying the fare! The railway eventually closed in 1986 and was taken over by Indian Railways and converted to broad gauge.
