Caption - East African Railways (EAR) metre gauge class 58 4-8-4 Garratt no.5807 is seen at Elburgon in June 1969. This class of 18 oil burning Garratts were built by Beyer Peacock in 1949. After delivery they were used on freight and passenger services in Kenya and Uganda. With a weight of 186 tons, they were the largest locos in East Africa until the arrival of the class 59 Garratts in 1955.
