Caption - South African Railways (SAR) GMA class Garratt no.4085 with a freight approaching Kameel which is located between Vryburg and Mafikeng. At the time of the visit in August 1982, GMAM Garratts were taking over most of the traffic from the 19D class 4-8-2s. Sadly the line was not very scenic although the railway followed an undulating course across the landscape.
