Caption - The 402 km 750 mm gauge line in Patagonia (Argentina) from Ingeniero Jacobacci to El Maiten and Esquel is one of the great railways of the world. Serving a desolate area of mountainous terrain, the line eventually opened to Esquel in 1945. Henschel built 2-8-2 no.136 is seen at El Maiten, where the workshops are located, in October 1976. Over 50 locos were built for the line by Henschel and Baldwin. Affectionately known as "La Trochita" trains still operate over much of the line despite its isolated location.
