Spanish Railways 4-8-2 241F 2106 at Miranda de Ebro
Caption - Built for the Madrid to Zaragoza and Alicante Railway by Maquinista in 1939 Spanish Railways (RENFE) 241F 2106 is one of 10 magnificent semi-streamlined 4-8-2's. Originally based at Madrid they were later transferred to Miranda de Ebro where the loco is seen in 1965. The need for streamlining is doubtful as Spanish Railways were not known for high speed passenger trains as many lines were steeply graded requiring heavy 8-coupled passenger locos and some Garratts.
