Caption - Portuguese Railways (CP) single-ended metre gauge railcar ME54 with two other members of the class at Sernada do Vouga depot in 1977. Note that half the vehicles were first class! These railcars were in the process of being replaced by modern bogie railcars. These railcars did not provide a comfortable journey especially in second class where space was at a premium. On some services, the railcars were turned on small turntables complete with passengers before continuing the journey.
