Malaysian Railways class 151 0-6-0 diesel, Kuala Lumpur
Caption - The metre gauge system operated by Malaysian Railways (KTM or Keretapi Tanah Melayu) had a distinctly British feel as a result of its colonisation. The headquarters were in Kuala Lumpur where 0-6-0 diesel electric shunter 151.12 is seen performing in the yards adjacent to the station in 1980. Built in 1948 by English Electric at the Vulcan Foundry, the loco has many characteristics of similar machines being designed and built in the UK. The shunter's truck is also reminiscent of those used by the Great Western Railway.
