Futwah Islampur narrow gauge Manning Wardle 0-6-2T 2H
Caption - The Futwah Islampur 2 foot 6 inch gauge line east of Patna in Eastern India ran for 27 miles over a flat landscape. It was one of a number of railways operated by Martins Light Railways. The line had three 0-6-2Ts built by Manning Wardle in 1919. 2H is seen leaving Futwah with the 0915 service to Islampur. This loco was works number 1920 of 1919. Sadly I didn't see 1H which was Manning Wardle 1919 of 1919! Photograph dates from November 1979. The line lasted until 1986 when it was taken over by Indian Railways and closed for conversion to broad gauge.
