Caption - Pakistan Railways operated many very British looking 0-6-0s and 4-4-0s that were influenced by current designs on the Great Central Railway in Britain. Wazirabad Junction, northwest of Lahore, was one of the centres where they were still been used. The small loco shed adjacent to the mainline serviced locos on the branches to Malakwal and Sialkot. This image shows SGS class 0-6-0 2394, SPS class 4-4-0 and SGS class 2529 being prepared for their next duties. All the locos were oil-fired and built to 5 feet 6 inch gauge. Originally delivered prior to partition of India, they were used by the North Western Railway until formation of Pakistan Railways in 1948.
