Caption - South African Railways (SAR) two foot gauge NGG16 class Garratt 143 working southbound near Jolivet on the Umzinto to Ixopo line in Natal. Timber was an important commodity for this line. The heavy loaded trains worked downhill towards the coast at Umzinto where the loads were transferred to the mainline. This loco has since moved to the Welsh Highland Railway in North Wales. Photo taken on 10th July 1979
