Mozambique Railways 4-4-2 Atlantic 812 at Lumbo
Caption - Mozambique Railways (CFM) operated three separate 3 foot 6 inch gauge railways running inland from the Indian Ocean. The northernmost line from Nacala and Lumbo was the last railway to see regular operation of 4-4-2 or Atlantic wheel arrangement locos. Seen here at Lumbo in 1975 is no.812, which was one of 4 members of the class built by Henschel in 1923. It is ready to work a local mixed train. What a lovely machine!
